Program Director (Etobicoke)

William is joining the True North team in the position of Multi-Sport Camp Director this year, where he will be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing daily camp programming while fostering a fun, inclusive and safe environment for all campers and staff. Before True North, William has worked in camp settings before as a supervisor at the YMCA of Niagara and as a camp counsellor at Iroquois Springs in New York. William graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and will attend Nipissing University as a Teacher Candidate in September. William is very active in the sports community, including playing basketball, volleyball, swimming, karate and rugby. He is also currently on the Toronto Warriors 9-Man volleyball team. William is passionate about making an impact, having fun and learning new skills, and he is excited to bring that experience to every camper. 

Amala Hutchinson-Jones

Amala Hutchinson-Jones

Program Director (Leaside)
Amala is excited to be returning to True North Sports Camps as your Program Director at Leaside for her second year in a row. Amala has been working as an educational assistant and preschool teacher in her hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Prior to working with True North, Amala has had the pleasure of working with kids aged 9 months to teenagers. Amala has always had a passion for playing sports such as volleyball, rugby, soccer and running track but her heart belongs to basketball. She began coaching basketball in her senior year of highschool, which she proudly continues to do to this day. Through her own experiences in sport at a young age and her childcare background, she knows what a difference a great time at camp can make for each and every child!

Program Director (Forest Hill)

Gabriel joined True North this spring as a Program Director for the Multi-Sport camp in Forest Hill. Gabriel is passionate about sports and loves participating in volleyball, basketball, soccer, baseball, football, and frisbee. He has been playing all these sports since he was a kid and been involved in numerous summer camps and coaching programs. Daniel’s goal is to help people of all ages learn the fundamentals of sports while having a great time. He believes that playing sports can bring out the best in everyone as it teaches us discipline, respect, hard work and dedication. 

Angelica Perri

Angelica Perri

Program Director (Etobicoke)

Angelica graduated from Brock University with a degree in Child and Youth Studies and is working towards her Bachelors of Education this fall. Prior to joining the True North team, Angelica participated in competitive and recreational dance since the age of three, and has been teaching it ever since. She is an avid athlete across several sports and worked at Arrowhead Camp in Dwight, Ontario throughout her teenage years. Angelica is excited to join the team and share her love for sports, as well as working with children.

Becca Thomas

Program Director (Lawrence Park)

Becca joined True North as the Program Director of the Multi-Sport Camp this summer. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Western University. Becca has worked in a wide range of summer camps throughout her life, including a horseback riding camp for children and seeing kids keep active, have fun, and make life-lasting friendships and memories.

Zack Karam

Assistant Director (Lawrence Park)
This is Zack’s first summer as part of the True North team, as he is joining as an assistant director at the Lawrence Park multi-sport camp.  He will be taking on the part of assisting the director, helping to construct the program, and working with staff to ensure every camper has a safe and fun camp experience. Zack is currently enrolled in university, where he is in the Business Administration program at Wilfrid Laurier University. Before accepting the offer at True North Camps, Zack spent 4 summers as a soccer camp Counsellor at Upper Canada College from 2019-2022.
Vanessa Perri

Vanessa Perri

Assistant Director (Etobicoke)

Vanessa has just completed her first year at Queen’s University in the Concurrent Education program with the hopes of pursuing a teaching career in the future. She was a competitive dancer for most of her life, eventually assisting and teaching dance classes of her own. Sports have always been a large part of Vanessa’s life and what she is not participating in them herself, she is always on the sidelines, supporting and cheering on her loved ones while they played. In the past, Vanessa has volunteered at an overnight summer camp, and helped organize clubs at her University. She is so excited to join the True North team this summer, and cannot wait to share her love of sports with everyone else.
