COVID-19 Policies (last updated November 29, 2021)
True North was thrilled to be able to offer summer camps in both 2020 and 2021 (albeit modified) with no COVID-19 cases. True North will continue to follow the Ministry of Health guidelines and protocols to ensure the safety of both our campers and staff and reserves the right to alter our policies as guidance changes. Below are some key operational changes we've made for 2022:
- Indoor Facilities - We're back to running camp both indoors and outdoors! Where feasible, our goal is to remain outdoors as much as we can.
- Hours - Our traditional camp hours of 8:30am - 4:00pm are back!
- Extended Care - Extended care starting at 8:00am until 5:00pm is back!
- Vaccination Status - Campers ages 12+ must be able to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination in order to attend our camps. (Required by 3rd party indoor facilities)
- Staff - All of our staff will be fully vaccinated.
We understand that these are still uncertain times for parents and booking summer camps far in advance can be challenging not knowing how the summer will unfold. Therefore, we've done our best to provide parents with flexibility regarding registration:
- Early Bird - Register before February 1st, 2022 and receive 15% off all summer camps
- Payment - Register without paying ANYTHING until May 1st, 2022
- Cancellation Policy - Our Summer Camp cancellation policy can be found online here.
- Transfers - You are able to transfer your child's registration to a different camp/week assuming there is still availability in the camp/week you're looking to transfer into.

Frequently Asked Questions (last updated October 15, 2021)
We are running a handful of programs this fall, a full schedule can be found here. Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 virus it has been difficult to secure facilities therefore we are not offering as many programs as we might normally. We are constantly looking to add to our schedule.
If there happens to be a COVID-19 outbreak at one of our programs we'll be providing parents with a prorated refund for the number of sessions cancelled.
More about our cancellation policy can be found online here
We would love for you to register your child for our programs. However, we recognize the drop-off only nature of the program may be difficult for some of our younger campers and since the program is much shorter and less often than our summer camps it may be more difficult for them to adjust to the environment. We'll do our best to make them feel right at home, we have added an extra staff to these drop-off programs for the 4-6 age group to try and aid with home sickness/separation anxiety. Ultimately the answer comes down to if you think your child will be okay if you drop them off and leave?
Please call our office at (416) 619-1224 if you'd like to discuss the program further and what it is going to look like.
True North is a small business that is still owned by the four founders who originally started the camp as a passion project 14 years ago. While we have grown in the past several years to expand the sports and programs that we offer, we remain a highly seasonal business. As like many other small businesses, we have been materially impacted by the cancellation of our programs arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, which has resulted in us unfortunately having to lay off our incredible clinic staff. While we have been working tirelessly with our partners and vendors to assist in lowering expenses during this time, there are some costs that are simply unavoidable (including expenses such as office / storage rent, utilities and telecommunications, wages for full-time staff, administrative services such as website hosting, registration system, etc). We are evaluating all government relief aid available, including wage subsidies and small business loans to assist us in weathering this storm.
At this time, we are providing families a full credit for any cancelled registrations (all families were contacted directly regarding any program cancellations). These credits never expire and are transferrable amongst siblings. We will also honour the price you paid in 2020 for the same (or similar) program in 2021 and offer you early access to registering for our 2021 programs.
While we are offering credits in an effort to ensure that this pandemic does not irreversibly damage the viability of True North, it is not our intention to add to any hardship faced by our camp families during these uncertain times. Should a credit not be a viable option for your family due to financial constraints arising from COVID-19, please contact us to discuss other options.
Providing credits for our future programs is our best chance at protecting True North as a small business during this difficult economic time. We thank you in advance for your understanding of the difficult position we are currently facing.
