COVID-19: A Message from our Founders
To our entire True North family, we hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. This unprecedented situation has been very difficult on all of us, however, it has also revealed a sense of community unlike anything we have witnessed before. It has been truly inspiring to see everyone rally together as we face this challenge united.
As of Tuesday, May 20, 2020 our Directors have made the difficult decision to suspend all of our 2020 summer day camps. Based on the recent announcements by the City of Toronto as well as other health officials, True North is unable to operate any of our locations in Toronto, Etobicoke, or Markham. All families that were registered for any of our programs that have been cancelled were contacted directly.
Thank you very much for all of the supportive and encouraging messages we have received from families over the past few weeks - we miss all of our campers and young athletes! We are passionate about what we do, and the programs that we run; however, we have incredible respect for the messaging received from public health and the importance that social distancing plays in flattening the curve.
Now the good news! True North is excited to launch our new program for summer 2020: True North Mini Camps!
As many families have, understandably, reached out to us regarding our plans for our upcoming programs, please find below several Frequently Asked Questions. Feel free to contact our office should you have any questions or concerns - we would be happy to discuss further: 416-619-1224 / email@example.com.
Stay safe and stay home!

Frequently Asked Questions (last updated May 22, 2020)
True North is a small business that is still owned by the four founders who originally started the camp as a passion project 14 years ago. While we have grown in the past several years to expand the sports and programs that we offer, we remain a highly seasonal business. As like many other small businesses, we have been materially impacted by the cancellation of our programs arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, which has resulted in us unfortunately having to lay off our incredible clinic staff. While we have been working tirelessly with our partners and vendors to assist in lowering expenses during this time, there are some costs that are simply unavoidable (including expenses such as office / storage rent, utilities and telecommunications, wages for full-time staff, administrative services such as website hosting, registration system, etc). We are evaluating all government relief aid available, including wage subsidies and small business loans to assist us in weathering this storm.
At this time, we are providing families a full credit for any cancelled registrations (all families were contacted directly regarding any program cancellations). These credits never expire and are transferrable amongst siblings. We will also honour the price you paid in 2020 for the same (or similar) program in 2021 and offer you early access to registering for our 2021 programs.
While we are offering credits in an effort to ensure that this pandemic does not irreversibly damage the viability of True North, it is not our intention to add to any hardship faced by our camp families during these uncertain times. Should a credit not be a viable option for your family due to financial constraints arising from COVID-19, please contact us to discuss other options.
Providing credits for our future programs is our best chance at protecting True North as a small business during this difficult economic time. We thank you in advance for your understanding of the difficult position we are currently facing.
