Leandro Lopes-1

Leandro Lopes

Program Director (Forest Hill)
Prior to working with True North, Leandro worked with Toronto Playgrounds Baseball, he worked up from a counsellor position to a camp lead position. Leandro was able to develop strong relationships with coaches, players, supervisors, and parents in his role with Toronto Playgrounds Baseball.  Leandro is excited for his second summer with True North Sports Camps and to make camper's experiences memorable!

Gavin has been a member of the TNSC staff since 2022 and is joining as an Assistant Director at baseball camp at our Forest Hill location. He has over 8 years of coaching and playing experience with North Toronto Baseball. He is looking forward to an amazing summer at TNSC!

Shaq Campbell-1

Shaq Campbell

Program Director (Forest Hill)
Shaq is back for his fifth summer at True North. Shaq started off in 2021 as a Flag Football Coach and worked his way on becoming a Program Director last year. During the school year, he works as an Early Learning Facilitator at the YMCA facilitating programs such as Arts & Crafts, Health & Language & Literacy, and Physical Play. He also participates in the True North clinics for sport sessions, and Birthday Parties. Shaq has worked with children for nine years and is always willing to learn new things from them. Some would say Shaq is fully of energy, life, passion, and always has a smile on his face. In addition, he is able to adapt in his programming and is looking forward to bring something new!
J_Mone Manhertz-1

J'Mone Manhertz

Assistant Director (Forest Hill)
J’Mone is an educator in the Durham District School Board where he has served for the last 13 years. He has extensive experience working with children and youth throughout Scarborough and the GTA, which includes his coaching experience in organized sports. Most notably, J’Mone both played and coached in the Ontario Varsity Football League where he earned multiple Offensive Player of the Year awards and scholarship offers. He further honed his skills providing one-to-one coaching to athletes preparing for post-secondary athletics. J’Mone enjoys being active through sports and recreation, especially football and basketball. He is eagerly looking forward to contributing to TNSC this summer, and being able to amalgamate two things that bring him joy - football and working with children.

Alianna is thrilled to be returning for her second year as a Multi-Sport Director at True North Sports Camp! She is entering her third year at McMaster University, where she is pursuing a degree in English and Cultural Studies. She is a National level synchronized swimmer and a varsity athlete for McMaster. Alianna also brings a strong background in sports through competing recreationally in track and field, rugby, basketball, soccer, football. Her passion for sport is matched by her experience in child care, having worked for several years doing summer camps and tutoring. Alianna is dedicated to fostering a positive, inclusive environment where every camper feels encouraged to try new things and develop a growth mindset. She can’t wait to bring her energy and experience back to camp this summer!
Matthew Wong-1

Matthew Wong

Assistant Director (Forest Hill)
Matthew joined the True North team in 2022 and worked as a coach from three years from 2022-2024. As of this year he is now an assistant director. Matthew is currently in year 2 of a 4 year kinesiology program at McMaster university. Matthew has a background in competitive soccer and shares his passion for basketball and football. Combining his 3 years of coaching experience at True North with 3 years of ski instructing experience, he is used to a camp environment and is excited to continue to express the values of a True North assistant director!

Sprios Bekiaris-1

Spiros Bekiaris

Program Director (Forest Hill)
Spiros began his journey with True North as a Counsellor in Training in 2018. This year he is back again as the Program Director of our soccer camp. Spiros is currently in Teacher's College after completing his undergraduate at the University of Toronto. In addition, he has played soccer for his whole life and values teamwork heavily. Before joining True North, Spiros volunteered and worked at several sports camps and after-school programs, developing his organization and creativity skills. As a result, Spiros is looking forward to sharing his energy and creativity with an amazing group of campers and coaches this year.
