Q and A With Our Executive Director Lauren Grundland

Lauren-Grundland

We are happy to announce another addition to our True North Sports Camp team this year, Lauren Grundland, our Executive Director.  Lauren will be stepping in as we wish Courtney well on her maternity leave.

Lauren has a passion for camping and informal education.  She has seven years of professional experience in the camping field.  Lauren comes to us from The Jack and Pat Kay Centre Camp of the JCCs of Greater Toronto.  She held the position of Assistant Camp Director for seven years and was directly responsible for camper recruitment and retention, camper care and inclusion, break camp programming, and Director of the Traditional Camp program.  Lauren is super excited for this new experience at True North Sports Camps and to grow her camp community.

Lauren was born and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin and remains a Wisconsin sports fan (Yes, she owns a Cheesehead!).  She is an alumni of Indiana University and is a big 10 sports fan – Go Hoosiers! Her 2 and half year-old son, Joshua, can’t wait to come to camp when he’s old enough, and enjoys shouting “Go Leafs Go!” whenever a hockey game is on.

Let’s get to know a bit more about Lauren below…

What makes True North special?

Since I started almost 3 weeks ago I have been warmly welcomed into the True North family.  To me, camp is about the people and the relationships you form with those people.  I have already started to form relationships with this wonderful team and can see that it will only continue to strengthen as we all work together to build an unforgettable camp experience for our campers and their families. I am looking forward to growing my camp family throughout the year and summer!
